Part 1:
My grandfather passed away about a week ago. When I was told I would be saying something, I had no clue what to do. I was the last one to talk to him, but I didn’t want to give a speech in front of everyone because of it. Even worse is the fact that his death has rendered me mute. I haven’t talked to anyone, but I do have a couple sentences written down for my speech. His funeral is in an hour, and I’m dressed in a concealing velvet dress. My mother has been trying to coax a word out of me, but all I do is nod or shake my head. Re-reading my excerpt, I find myself wanting to change something. But when I finally pick up my pen, I hear my dads voice calling me. It’s time for the funeral.
I have decided to start writing a story. Every other saturday i will add a new part to it, until i finish it. Starting today, with a sort of prologue.
When I was younger, and my family would go on long road trips, my mother would tell me not to try and see everything. She told me to just let it pass, but today I decided I wouldn’t let life pass me be. Never again.
